Why connect Telegram to LeadSquared
LeadSquared is widely used in India, the Gulf and Southeast Asia by education, BFSI and healthcare companies with high lead volumes. Its automation builder supports webhook actions, which carry Telegram messaging into existing journeys. Without the integration, Telegram becomes a separate silo; with it, every chat, order or request lands on the right record, your team gets alerts where they already are, and customers get updates in the chat they actually read.
How the integration works
- Auth. Access and secret keys with the correct regional endpoint.
- Inbound. Leads captured or updated from the bot, custom activities for each conversation and Mini App action.
- Outbound. Automations fire webhooks on stage changes; the middleware sends Telegram messages and logs delivery.
- Agents. Counsellors reply through a Telegram group mirror or via a custom activity feed.
Typical flows
- Enquiry in Telegram → lead with source and counsellor assignment
- Stage “Application” → document checklist via bot
- Payment reminder and receipt via Telegram
Architecture
| Layer | What runs there |
|---|---|
| Telegram | Your bot (grammY or aiogram) and Mini App |
| Middleware | A small service on your cloud: auth with LeadSquared, mapping, dedupe, templates, retries, audit log |
| LeadSquared | Native objects and automations; no custom code inside beyond fields and triggers |
| Monitoring | Failed syncs alert your team in Telegram; daily reconciliation report |
Data and compliance
Telegram IDs, usernames and phone numbers are personal data. We capture consent in the bot or Mini App, support unsubscribe and deletion, and keep data in your LeadSquared region and your cloud region. A data flow document is provided for your DPO where GDPR, UK GDPR, PIPEDA, the Australian Privacy Act or regional laws apply.
