The three payment rails in Telegram
| Rail | Use for | Fees and payout | Integration time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Telegram Stars | Digital goods, subscriptions, in-app items (mandatory) | Telegram and app stores take a share; payout in TON via Fragment or spend on Ads | 1–2 weeks |
| TON / USDT via TON Connect | Crypto-native products, rewards, large tickets | Network fees only; instant settlement to your wallet | 1–3 weeks |
| Cards via Stripe, Adyen, regional PSPs | Physical goods, bookings, services outside Telegram | Processor fees (about 3%); payout to your bank | 1–2 weeks |
Most products end up with two rails: Stars for in-app digital value and either cards or TON for the rest. We design the checkout so the user never has to understand why.
Telegram Stars in practice
Stars is Telegram’s in-app currency bought through Apple, Google or directly. For developers it is the only compliant way to sell digital goods inside Mini Apps on mobile. We implement:
sendInvoicewith Stars (currencyXTR), pre-checkout validation andsuccessful_paymenthandling.- Subscriptions with recurring Stars payments and entitlement checks on every session.
- Refund tooling and policies, including partial automation for failed deliveries.
- Reporting: gross Stars, Telegram’s share, net value in TON and your local currency.
- Edge cases: duplicate updates, users switching devices mid-payment, timeouts.

TON and USDT
Through TON Connect the user approves a transaction in the Telegram Wallet or Tonkeeper; our backend confirms it on-chain via an indexer before releasing the order. We handle gas estimation, retries, under- and over-payments, and refunds to the sender address. For token projects we can add Jetton payments and discounts for holders. See TON development.
Cards and invoices
For physical goods and services we use Telegram’s invoice API with Stripe or another supported provider, or an external checkout opened from the Mini App when the provider is not supported natively. Apple Pay and Google Pay work through these providers. We implement webhooks, idempotent order creation, 3-D Secure and chargeback evidence collection.
What you receive
A payments module with tests, an admin view of orders and refunds, accounting exports (CSV, Google Sheets or your ERP), monitoring for failed payments and a live/test mode switch. Typical cost is $1,500–$6,000 per rail; combined projects with all three rails run $6,000–$12,000.

The final cost is calculated for each project individually and depends on the complexity of the task, the number of developers and specialists required, and the delivery timeline you set. Use the ranges to understand the typical bracket, not as a fixed offer; the fixed price is confirmed in writing after scoping. Read our pricing terms.
